Warm chapters 9 through 12 within the hedge budget

The warmth revision reaches Part IV's first half: chapters 9 through 12, the particle system, the mindful sentence, nouns, and numbers. Ten of the twenty-nine files change; the diff is under twenty lines. Facts, Phi, glosses, and IPA are untouched.

The hedge budget

Each chapter keeps one full-strength no-guarantee statement and converts the rest to what the feature offers:

• Chapter 9 keeps the introduction's "Audibility is not the same as virtue" paragraph, the right statement at the chapter door. The Slot 0 file had grown a hedge tail on every particle (wa's "welcome, fair, or answerable," no's "does not soften it," su's "makes no promise," pi's "goodwill and equal power do not follow"), the per-entry disclaimer heartbeat in miniature. All four convert to design offers: wa settles the clause type at the first syllable "so nobody spends the sentence wondering whether it will end up being asked"; su "gives hope its own grammar, so a blessing never has to disguise itself as a prediction." The honorifics tail converts likewise.
• Chapter 10 keeps the introduction's "Phi prescribes the order, not the speed or state of mind anyone brings to it," and the intro now ends "The moment before the verb comes unfurnished, and it is yours." The SOV file's "Nothing in the word order forces that notice" becomes the practice-ground offer: "miss it a hundred times and it is waiting in the hundred and first." The exercises' closing "the delay is not a test of virtue" becomes "in time the delay stops feeling like a wait and starts sounding like the language."
• Chapter 11 keeps the classifier file's census cluster ("A human classifier can appear in an exploitative census; a bare human noun can appear in a caring conversation"), which was already concrete and well-placed. Three milder tails convert or trim.
• Chapter 12 carries no full-strength waiver; its remaining "cannot" sentences are arithmetic and design facts.

Aspiration added

The chapter 9 introduction now pairs its honest learning-cost paragraph with the fact that makes the cost finite: the inventory is closed, "thirty-five particles today, thirty-five in every text on the shelf, and no module or future chapter adds a thirty-sixth." This is the same move as Part III's nineteen-sounds vista and rests on canon's ruling that modules add vocabulary only.

Untouched files

Nineteen files needed nothing. The entire words-of series (color, place, body, heart, arts, exchange) is already the register the sweep aims for; the body file's "a person has never been their pain" and the exchange file the voice guide quotes as a tuning fork set the bar rather than needing it. Most of chapter 12 is likewise current.

Judgment calls to review

• The chapter 10 questions file keeps "It cannot make a directive harmless or a question sincere," classified as consent teaching (that lesson's own subject) rather than a second waiver, on the same reasoning as Part II's power paragraphs. Under a stricter reading it would convert.
• "The moment before the verb comes unfurnished, and it is yours" deliberately echoes the merged Part I passage ("the attention is yours to bring") that the voice guide now quotes in its gallery. Chapter 10 teaches the same lesson at full depth, so the echo is meant as reinforcement, like the nineteen-sounds bookend.
• The closed-inventory sentence commits the book to no thirty-sixth particle. Canon supports it; flagging because it is a strong promise in teaching prose.

Audit

The full protocol ran, counting pass included. Named findings, corrected before commit: the chapter 11 and chapter 12 classifier trims initially ended on the identical tail "audible in the count," a fresh two-file stamp, and one was recast; the wa conversion's first draft reused Part I's "mistakes the question for a claim" phrasing nearly verbatim and was reworded. Counting results: all hard-zero rows at zero, no litanies or -ing tails, the thirty-five-particles build judged an earned triple, waiver count one full-strength each in chapters 9 through 11 and none in 12. Validator: 1275 entries, 0 errors, 0 warnings.
