This PR largely rewrites the system tests documentation to demonstrate the recent simplifications and features.
Besides some of the implementation details (which are now collapsed by default, to make the page feel shorter), the rest of the page has been rewritten from scratch.
On the occasion, I am also adjusting the help messages and other minor details.
