Coliseum is a chess engine GUI built to host, manage, and watch chess engine tournaments. It is designed to be much simpler and easier to use than legacy tools like Arena Chess GUI.
If you want to test engines, run automated tournaments, or analyze games without dealing with clunky layouts and outdated configuration menus, Coliseum is a modern alternative.
Set up and run automated single matches or full round-robin tournaments between multiple UCI chess engines. Configure custom time controls, opening books, and match settings.
Watch engine games live on a clean board with a real-time evaluation bar that updates as the engines calculate their moves.
Import any UCI engine, tweak its specific parameters, and save custom configurations. Coliseum tracks engine career stats (W/D/L) and Elo history across all tournament runs.
Scan your generated tournament PGN files to find tactical checkmates, blunder refutations, or better alternative moves. Play and solve these puzzles directly on the built-in tactics board.
Simple sound effects for moves, captures, check, and game end.
