Are you using XOA or XO from the sources?

XO-lite (built-in management interface on XCP-ng LTS)

Which release channel?

LTS (XCP-ng 8.3 LTS)

Describe the bug

UEFI VMs created via XO-lite do not boot since the XCP-ng LTS release. Before the LTS release, UEFI worked well. VMs created under XCP-ng 8.2 with UEFI still work correctly; only newly created UEFI VMs via XO-lite are affected.

Tested with Debian 13 and Windows Server 2022 — both fail to boot when created with UEFI through XO-lite.

Error message

Not specified — VMs simply fail to boot. No error messages captured.

To reproduce

  1. XCP-ng 8.3 LTS, fresh install
  2. Open XO-lite
  3. Create a new VM with UEFI firmware (e.g., Debian 13 or Windows Server 2022)
  4. Boot the VM

Observed: VM does not boot.
Expected: VM boots normally with UEFI firmware.

Note: A VM created under XCP-ng 8.2 with UEFI and migrated to 8.3 LTS continues to work.

Expected behavior

Newly created UEFI VMs boot normally on XCP-ng 8.3 LTS.

Environment

  • Hypervisor: XCP-ng 8.3 LTS (fresh install)
  • XOA version: XO-lite (built-in)
  • Node version: not applicable

Additional context

Reported by community member on the XCP-ng forum. Reporter intends to test further once their lab is back online after a UPS failure.
