Open source has always been a core part of how we approach CNC development at Sienci Labs. From our machine designs to gSender, we believe that sharing knowledge, tools, and ideas helps move the entire community forward. CNC has traditionally had a high barrier to entry, both technically and financially, and we want to help make the space more approachable for hobbyists, educators, small businesses, and makers alike. By making our work open and accessible, we give users the ability to better understand their machines, customize their workflows, and build on top of the tools we create.
Our goal is not just to release files or source code, but to encourage collaboration and experimentation. We regularly see users create modifications, improve workflows, share accessories, contribute code, and adapt our designs for entirely different types of machines and projects. That kind of community involvement helps everyone, including us. Many of the ideas and improvements that shape our products come directly from conversations, feedback, and contributions from the people using them every day.
Supporting our open source work helps us continue investing time and resources into maintaining and improving these projects. It allows us to keep developing gSender, expanding hardware and firmware support, improving documentation, and creating new tools and features that benefit the broader CNC community. Whether someone contributes code, shares knowledge, or chooses to support financially, it directly helps sustain an ecosystem built around openness, accessibility, and shared progress.
