preserves literal '+' characters exactly as they are

I want to report a problem we have in using this Captcha Protect plugin for Traefik.
We have site that we protect using this plugin, but the challenge redirection fails when it have '+' characters in the URL. Is it something we can workaround using challenge.tmpl.html or something to be done in the code to allow preserving this path?

Example:
The original path: Chrome%20+%20MariaDB%20
The path after completing Captcha challenge redirection: Chrome%20%20%20MariaDB%20
