@anutosh491 @SylvainCorlay The issue you have opened here p12tic/cppreference-doc#145 is likely not going to lead anywhere, since the repo isn't where cppreference is developed according to this comment p12tic/cppreference-doc#140 (comment) . Going by this blog post of the isocpp website (authored around one month ago) https://isocpp.org/blog/2026/04/announcement-cppreference.com-update , your best course of action is to try and find contact details for Nate Kohl to see if they can change the setting you want. Also interesting the blog post details that the website plans to migrate to using mediawiki, so it might be worth understanding how that would change xeus-cpps current method of getting documentation.

In case you get no response, a stop gap to get everything working again would be to build the website locally, host as a github page (with the setting changed that you need), and then point xeus-cpp towards that github page for the documentation look up.

This xframe issue seems to be due to the migration of cppreference to mediawiki. Mediawikis documentation (here https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgEditPageFrameOptions) states that wgEditPageFrameOptions is set to deny by default for security reasons. I think you might have issues convincing the maintainer(s) of cppreference to change a setting which will make things more insecure (at least according to the mediawiki documentation), but I guess we will have to wait and see.

@anutosh491 @ianthomas23 @SylvainCorlay Here is a link to a deployment where the documentation generation inside an iframe should work for you https://mcbarton.github.io/xeus-cpp-demo/lab/index.html (it also happens to be using llvm 23/master if you want to try out the bleeding edge). This is based on the stop gap method I mention above (using one of the offline archives).

Cppreference is under a CC-BY-SA licence https://www.cppreference.com/Cppreference:Copyright/CC-BY-SA, which from my understanding says you can host your own version (but I am no legal expert and you should do your own investigations to check this is ok). If it is ok then I believe you could set up a Github page which mirrors cppreference, and point the stl.json tag to your mirror. That way you could still carry on using iframe. I will not keep the above link working indefinitely (and could pull it with no warning), so its best you find a way to fix this issue on your side.
